19th Century French Spelter Banner Bearer Statuette, Coppery Finish
19th Century French Spelter Banner Bearer Statuette, Coppery Finish
I'm always excited to find these antique Spelter pieces…you can just feel the history. In the 19th century, French Spelter, also known as régule, was a metal used to make decor items.
This figural Medieval standard bearer or banner bearer statuette on stepped metal base is in a rich coppery finish that truly takes you to the castles or chateaus of centuries past. The detail is intricate down to the chain used in the banners and accessories. Such a fantastic heirloom piece for those who love the old world lore of England and France.
There are two coordinating pieces listed separately.
It measures 18.5” tall x 6.75” in diameter at the base.
Pieces like this are why I love sourcing the South and the great state of Texas for vintage and antique estate decor. You never know what you'll find.
