Miniature Painted Portrait of Catherine Cornaro (1454-1510).

She was the last monarch of the Kingdom of Cypress, also holding the title of Queen of Jerusalem and Queen of Armenia. She became queen consort of Cyprus by marriage to James II of Cypress, and then regent of Cyprus during the minority of her son James III of Cypress 1473–1474, and finally queen regent of  Cyprus upon his death.

She reigned from August 1474 to February 1489 and was declared a "Daughter of Saint Mark" in order that the Republic of Venice could claim control of Cyprus after the death of her husband.

It’s enveloped in a fantastic patterned bone with highly detailed gold tole surrounding convex glass. Circa late 19th century.

I acquired the entire collection of miniature portraits from same lovely Texas estate… the same as the XLarge Florentine wall hanging of The Good Shepherdthat sold immediately on IG.

Sourcing the South and the great state of Texas for vintage and antique estate decor is my favorite thing to do...shopping estate sales, auctions, and charity thrift stores to carefully curate a collection of fantastic finds that have and will stand the test of time.

It measures 4.5” long x 3.75” wide x .5” deep

$297 INCLUDES INSURED SHIPPING in the continental US.
