An exceptional pair of vintage decorative Lladro Majolica porcelain planters, crafted in Spain by Hispania Daisa in 1984. Each octagonal planter features lion heads in relief on four sides, a classical motif symbolizing strength and stately grandeur. The rich, glazed finish gives these planters a timeless, heirloom-quality appeal, perfect for elevating both interior and garden design.
Marked on the underside with a blue hallmark and inscription: Hispania Daisa Made in Spain 1984. DAISA—Diseños Artísticos e Industriales, S.A., a renowned subsidiary of Lladró—was active between 1941 and 1989, celebrated for its Majolica and earthenware pieces that blend artistic finesse with architectural elegance.
With their classical European style, bold octagonal form, and commanding lion head detailing, these planters are ideal for flanking an entryway, anchoring a patio, or adding sculptural interest to an interior conservatory.
They were acquired at a second home lane estate in the Texas Hill Viuntry… the same as the swan and Rococo style mirrors.
Each measures 17” tall x 16.5” wide diameter and are in lovely estate condition.
As you can imagine, comps on these are almost twice what I'm offering them for.
