Portraitures of Horses, a Few People, Some Dogs Morris, 1952, George Ford Morris

If you love horses and coffee table books, this is a must! 

In 1952, Morris published 'Portraitures of Horses', considered by many as the Horse Book of the Century. It is a lovely collection of his portraits and sketches spanning over 40 years. The covers are beautifully done to create the look leather combined with turquoise detail.

These books have become highighly sought after and collectible.  This copy has been owned by the original family whinpuchsed it back in the 1950s where I acquired it.  I attended a private sale at their INCREDIBLE Central Texas estate.  

This lady remembers the days of fabulous dinners at The Austin Club and when you could head down to 35th Street in Austin and run into folks like Kris Kristofferson, Janice Joplin, and Jerry Jeff Walker to name a few. Her grandmother was a personal friend of Helen Corbitts. I talked with her about those good old days and stories from her travels around the world. She was a hoot and I enjoyed every single minute.
