Vintage 'Imperial Puppy of Satsuma'. This posh pup is hand painted in various vibrant florals, including chrysanthemums, with a gold braided band as a collar and a gilt nose and tail atop a white porcelain background. The pup has its paw resting on a blue and gold ball - its stance is reminiscent of a traditional foo dog or shi shi lion. It's a stunning piece by The Franklin Mint c1987. Marked as shown.

It measures 9" long x 4" wide x 5.25" tall and is in lovely estate condition.
