Antique French Blue & White Faience Dinner Plate – St. Amand et Hamage “Régence” c.1900

Le bleu et blanc est tout simplement intemporel — blue and white is simply timeless.

This charming antique dinner plate was produced in northern France by Saint-Amand et Hamage, one of the historic faience manufacturers of Saint-Amand-les-Eaux, a region known for its rich clay deposits and centuries-old ceramic tradition. Pottery has been produced in this area since the early 1700s, and by the late 19th century the Saint-Amand factories had become major producers of decorative French tableware. 

Marked “St. Amand et Hamage – Nord – Régence,” this plate dates to roughly 1896–1920, when the Hamage factory mark was widely used on French faience tableware. 

The Régence pattern features delicate cobalt blue florals framed by a softly scalloped rim—an elegant nod to the romantic decorative style of 18th-century France. Pieces like these were created as beautiful everyday tableware, designed to bring a touch of refinement to the French country table.

More than a century later, these plates remain as relevant as ever—perfect for mixing with other blue-and-white pieces, layering with antique transferware, or creating a collected table with timeless European charm.

 Beautiful antique condition with light age-appropriate wear consistent with over a century of use. Gentle craquelore & disvolorstion may be present, which is typical of antique faience and part of its charm.
