Large Antique French Coffee Tin – J. Petit “Torréfaction de Cafés” Advertising Canister from Antwerp, c. 1900

A rare and graphic treasure from the golden age of European coffee culture—this antique French advertising tin once held freshly roasted coffee beans for J. Petit, a prominent coffee roaster located at 143–145 Rue de la Station, Jérôme, Anvers (Antwerp).

Dating to the late 19th or early 20th century, this boldly lithographed tin features a stunning red background adorned with black and gold flourishes, a heraldic eagle, and bold French typography. The words “Torréfaction de Cafés” (Coffee Roasting) crown the design, exuding old-world charm and Parisian café elegance.

Perfectly patinated with authentic age and wear, this large cylindrical tin would have graced a general store or boutique café at the turn of the century. Now, it makes a fabulous decorative statement piece for kitchens, coffee bars, pantries, or vintage retail displays.
