Beginning their story in France decades ago, these beautifully sculpted lions eventually became part of the majestic landscape of a private Texas estate, where I was fortunate enough to discover them while privately shopping the property. Pieces with this kind of provenance—and this much presence—are exactly what make a collected home so special.

Each lion features a flowing, beautifully carved mane, a heraldic shield, and a wonderfully aged patina with traces of its historic painted finish, allowing the warm sandstone beneath to peek through. Their authentic weathering and sculptural detail speak to decades of standing watch over gardens and welcoming guests.

Equally at home flanking an entryway, garden gate, terrace, or conservatory, these lions are substantial architectural accents that make an unforgettable statement. They are just as striking displayed individually as they are as a pair.
