19th Century French Tapestry, Beautifully Framed
19th Century French Tapestry, Beautifully Framed
19th century French Tapestry beautifully framed between two wood borders with four intricately carved finials. This is one of those pieces that you can just feel the history… it’s an aristocratic parlor scene complete with a playful pup, Rococo furniture, portraits, urns, candelabras, tapestries, and even a walking stick resting against a cabriole leg stool. I am so in love with every single thing about it…
All of these pics were taken in the same room in the same light … not sure why it looks differently, lol
I acquired it from the familial Castle Hills estate of a former San Antonio mayor and judge. His daughter was a prominent member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and the daughters of the Republic of Texas (DRT) who spent countless hours serving on various charity boards around San Antonio.
This estate had so many lovely things and I was thrilled to have sourced some of the most fantastic heirloom pieces.
Pieces like this are why I love sourcing the South and the great state of Texas for vintage and antique estate decor is my favorite thing to do...shopping estate sales, auctions, charity thrift stores, and antique malls to carefully curate a collection of fantastic finds that have and will stand the test of time.
It measures 22” tall in the center x 67” long to the tips of the finials and is in lovely condition especially for its age.
$847 INCLUDES INSURED SHIPPING in the continental US.
🩷Vintage and antique items have some wear associated with years of age and use which only adds to their overall charm. Please see all the pics as they are considered part of the description.
