An extraordinary pair of antique bronze and marble putti tazzas, sourced from a remarkable private estate collection. Heavy, sculptural, and wonderfully ornate, these are the kind of Old World pieces that give a room instant history and presence.

Each tazza features beautifully cast bronze putti figures supporting a marble bowl, with classical ornamentation, aged gilt detailing, and the deep patina that makes antique bronze so incredibly beautiful.

And perhaps best of all — there are two.

Pairs like this were made for symmetry and display. Imagine them flanking an important antique portrait or gilded mirror, placed at either end of a long console, or commanding a mantel. They would be equally fabulous separated across a room atop a pair of chests or pedestals.

The Estate

I sourced these from the same fabulous private estate collection where I recently acquired several exceptional paintings — including the monumental portrait in the style of Rubens, the smaller gentleman’s portrait, and the European landscape with its fascinating Bonaparte family connection.

While the Bonaparte provenance pertains specifically to the landscape, these tazzas were part of that same beautifully assembled private collection — a home filled with European antiques, fine art, and objects chosen with an obvious appreciation for history and craftsmanship.

That provenance makes finding the original pair together even more special.
