Antique Meissen Potpourri Urn with Cherubs | Floral Scene Porcelain | 12”
Some pieces don’t just decorate a room — they romance it.
This exquisite authentically marked Meissen potpourri urn is a true statement of European porcelain artistry, richly adorned with hand-painted floral scenes, lavish hand-applied porcelain blossoms, and the sweetest figural detail: two cherubs nestled at the sides, as if caught mid-mischief in a porcelain garden.
The pierced lid is crowned with a sculptural bouquet of blooms, designed in the classic potpourri tradition — originally made to perfume grand interiors with dried flowers and scent. Today, it serves as a breathtaking centerpiece for collectors, maximalists, and anyone who believes the home should feel layered, storied, and impossibly beautiful.

Why You’ll Love It
This is Meissen at its most enchanting — delicate, dramatic, and impossibly detailed. Every flower is sculpted by hand. Every brushstroke is intentional. And the cherubs? They give it that unmistakable touch of whimsy that makes Meissen feel less like an object… and more like a small piece of European fantasy made real.
A rare heirloom for a porcelain cabinet, mantel, or curated vignette — and the kind of piece you keep forever.
It measures 11.5” tall x 5.5” wide
Acquired from the estate of a noted author and former head of the Texas Historical Commission. He and his wife were passionate collectors who traveled extensively, amassing an extraordinary collection — including the largest assortment of Meissen and Dresden porcelain I’ve ever seen.
Pieces like this are why I love sourcing the South and the great state of Texas for vintage and antique estate decor…shopping estate sales, auctions, charity thrift stores, and antique malls to carefully curate a collection of fantastic finds that have and will stand the test of time.
