“Adams founded the Greengates Pottery in 1779, producing fine jasperware products stamped Adams & Co.  He is said to have been a life longfriend and confidant of Josiah Wedgwood. Adams has often been credited with improving on Josiah's original formula in color, design, and stability while he worked at the Etruria Factory. This influence is said to have directly contributed to Wedgwood's success, before the period when Adams was working independently at Greengates.”

There is some discoloration on the inside from years of use as plant holder.

It measures 7.5” tall x 7.5” in diameter x 6.5” deep inside.
