Christopher Radko “Gift Heart” by Ellen | MD Anderson Children’s Art Project Ornament

Some ornaments carry a beautiful story. Gift Heart was created by Christopher Radko for MD Anderson’s Children’s Art Project from artwork by Ellen “Ellie” O’Neal, a young patient whose heart design was chosen for the collection.

The ornament is a vivid pink and red glass heart wrapped like a present with green ribbon and a smaller red heart at its center. A tiny purple flower rises above it on a delicate wire stem. It is wonderful on a Christmas tree, but its message of love makes it lovely to display all year.

The Children’s Art Project originally sold gifts featuring artwork by MD Anderson’s young patients to support patient programs. This vintage ornament is a touching piece of that history.
