Vintage Cordey Chinoiserie Porcelain Statuette | Whimsical Mid-Century Cordey Porcelain | Hand-Painted | 

Delicate, theatrical, and delightfully whimsical—this charming Cordey porcelain chinoiserie statuette captures the romantic decorative spirit that made Cordey pieces so beloved during the mid-20th century.

She wears a beautiful embroidered yellow jacket with a wide hat trimmed in ribbon and blossoms. She stands upon an elaborate Rococo-inspired base with scrolling gilt decoration—an unmistakable hallmark of Cordey’s theatrical design style.

Pieces like these were produced by the Cordey China Company of Trenton, New Jersey, whose artisans became known for their imaginative interpretations of European aristocrats, romantic characters, and exoticized chinoiserie subjects. Their creations were designed to bring personality and storybook charm to mantels, consoles, and curio cabinets.

It’s sculptural height and expressive detail make it particularly lovely styled on a bookshelf, dressing table, or layered among porcelain and blue-and-white collections.

Estate Provenance

She is one of an extensive collection sourced from the same Texas estate, where they were displayed throughout as a charming tableau of aristocratic characters.
