This charming mirrored pair of Cordey porcelain candleholders captures the whimsical romantic style that made Cordey pieces so beloved in the mid-20th century.

Each candleholder features a delicately modeled cherub seated within a scalloped shell-like form, surrounded by soft pink roses and trailing greenery. Draped in flowing pale blue accents and finished with touches of gilt, the cherubs raise one arm gracefully as they perch above the floral base, creating a design that feels playful, elegant, and unmistakably decorative.

Produced by the Cordey China Company of Trenton, New Jersey (primarily 1940s–1950s), pieces like these were inspired by romantic European decorative arts and were prized for their hand-applied details, pastel palette, and theatrical charm.

Both pieces function as candleholders, making them perfect for styling on a mantel, console, or tabletop vignette where their sculptural quality and soft colors can truly shine. Together they create a lovely symmetrical display filled with personality and vintage charm.

Estate Provenance

They are part of that extensive collection sourced from the same Texas estate, where they were displayed throughout as a charming tableau of aristocratic characters.
