French Madame with Cat Painting, Vintage Acrylic on Board

When I saw this painting while shopping in Round Top I literally gasped! I was immediately transported to a glamorous apartment in 1970s Paris - not that I was actually there, lol- but as I’ve imagined it or seen in films. The soft hues almost as in a haze of perfume and smoke… and then there’s the diviness that is her hair-do. The ornate Gold frame envelopes her perfectly as she snuggles this sweet kitten.  It’s acrylic on board and completely fantastic. It’s artists signed in the lower left corner and dated.

Pieces like this are why I love Sourcing the South and the great state of Texas- especially Round Top-  for vintage and antique decor.  Shopping estate sales, online auctions, charity thrift stores, and antique malls to carefully curate a collection of fantastic heirloom pieces that have and will stand the test of time.
