Vintage Judith Leiber Snakeskin Clutch, Jeweled Clasp

Can you just imagine the stories this glamorous clutch could tell? To say this bag is FABULOUS is a vast understatement... Designed by Judith Leiber, this vintage snakeskin clutch is a work of art. Circa 1970s.

Known for her upscale one-of-a-kind handbag designs, she was the first woman inducted into the Hungarian Handbag Guild; the New York Times referred to her creations as “objects d’art”.

Done in a glamorous deep Taupe snakeskin, this bag is accented with a textured gold tone metal closure featuring two glass insets, the larger channeling a tiger's eye, giving the air of exotic charm to this already luxurious bag.  Generally known as a clutch, there is also a gold toned link chain strap.

The interior is lined in a cappuccino satin with a single zip pocket on the side wall and the Judith Leiber plaque affixed. It's in lovely estate condition with only light wear (please see pics).

I acquired this piece at a posh Austin estate.  In fact, the same estate where the Neiman Marcus fur vest I also have listed was found. It was like I went upstairs and walked straight into Neiman Marcus. I audibly gasped and may have even squealed in delight!! 

This bag measures approximately  9.5" wide x 6.75" tall, with the chain strap measuring 18.5" long.
