To say I freaked out when I saw these is an understatement… I have never seen a thing quite like them. They're late 19th century French bronze wired candelabra style wall sconces with bouquets of flowers in a double handled urn vase with cherubs… just let that sink in. I love that the light covers look and feel like candles with dripping wax. I think they may have started out as candelabras and were at some point wired for electricity.
They are amazing architectural pieces that I was absolutely thrilled to source from the same doot as the large Meissen tureen… they remind me of cathedral pieces. They are true statement pieces in every sense of the word.
They're offered in found condition and were hard to photograph well, so please feel free to request additional photos.
They are substantial measuring 24” long x 21” wide x 8” deep and are pretty heavy.
Pieces like this are why I love sourcing the South and the great state of Texas for vintage and antique estate decor…shopping estate sales, auctions, charity thrift stores, and antique malls to carefully curate a collection of fantastic finds that have and will stand the test of time.
Just like the Meissen tureen, I got a really good deal on these that I’m able to on… similar comps run at least twice the amount…
