Large Pair of French Louis XV Style Dore Bronze Cherub Urn Multi-Arm Wall Sconces, 24” H, Architectural Salvage

To say I freaked out when I saw these is an understatement… 

A monumental and highly decorative pair of French dore bronze wall sconces, executed in the Louis XV revival taste and dating to the late 19th century. At an impressive 24 inches in height, these are architectural in scale—designed not merely to illuminate, but to anchor and elevate an interior.

Each sconce is centered by a classical urn, richly cast with expressive cherub masks—symbols of abundance and enduring hallmarks of the French decorative tradition. From this sculptural base, an intricate arrangement of flowering arms unfolds in dynamic, naturalistic movement, embodying the asymmetry and theatricality of the Rococo revival.

The gilt bronze surfaces display a beautifully aged patina, enhancing the depth of the casting and lending warmth and dimension to the overall composition. Electrified for modern use, they retain their original romanticism while offering practical function.

 Condition:
Good antique condition with age-appropriate wear to gilt surface and finish, consistent with history and use.

They are substantial measuring 24” long x 21” wide x 8” deep and are pretty heavy.
