Maddox Black Swan Cache Pot Planter Pair, Mid 20th Century

 Early to mid 20th Century Maddox Black Swan Cache Pot Planters. 

My very first thought when I saw this FAB pair was… Jackie Kennedy swans!!  These gorgeous pieces are in a high gloss black with the prettiest pink beaks. Made by William Maddux, a ceramic potter in California famous in the 1930s-1950s for his bird  figures, particularly the black swans. I am thrilled to have found a pair, especially in this lovely condition. 

Each measures approximately 11” tall x 8” long x 5” wide.
