Large Original Oil Painting By Alceo Dossena (1878-1937)

Large vintage oil painting on canvas, of an Italian coastal countryside with boats and villas by Alceo Dossena (1878-1937). Although mainly known for his sculptures, he was also a painter.

This is one of those pieces that immediately draws you in… it’s so beautifully done with crisp colors and heavy palette knife work. I love the technique in the water making it look like ripply. So, so good! It’s signed in the lower right corner by the artist with a name plate. It’s framed in solid wood with a hanging wire attached.

This piece is substantial measuring 54” w x 30” t x 2”d

I acquired it at a glorious estate in mid town Memphis, TN. The same estate where I found all of those amazing portraits.
