This extraordinary monumental French Art Nouveau majolica jardinière on stand, crafted in Vallauris, France in the early 20th century and created in the manner of celebrated French ceramicist Clément Massier, is exactly that kind of piece.

Drenched in richly saturated jewel-tone glazes and alive with sculptural movement, this fantastical composition embodies everything collectors adore about the golden age of French majolica and Art Nouveau design.

The tapering basin is lavishly adorned with relief-molded roses and trailing foliage, accented by perched butterflies that seem almost ready to take flight. Beneath, a dramatic foliate pedestal rises from a striking figural heron base, grounding the entire piece in the romantic naturalism so beloved during the Art Nouveau period.

Condition: Presents beautifully overall with age-appropriate wear consistent with use and age. There are two repairs (see final photographs) which are not readily noticeable unless closely inspecting the piece specifically for them.

It measures 33.5" t x  14" in diameter total.
