Mottahedeh Lowestoft Reproduction Peking Duck Tureen, Made in Italy

This Mottahedeh reproduction of an English Lowestoft Peking Duck is spectacular and shows why Mottahedeh became known for their museum quality pieces. 

It was expertly crafted and hand painted with precise detail in the Imari style based on the original piece which belonged to Mildred and Rafi Mottahedeh as part of their personal collection. The inside of both pieces features the light blue celadon glaze. The underside of the base is marked LOWESTOFT REPRODUCTION CREATED BY MOTTAHEDEH" and labeled "A Mottahedeh Design", "Italy", "7932" 

I acquired it from a posh Central Texas estate with the most amazing mix of chinoiserie and English antiques. I kinda went crazy so be on the lookout for some of the other pieces I sourced…
