This exquisite round ormolu jewelry casket is a true vintage treasure, crafted with elaborate pierced filigree, warm gold metalwork, and a sparkling beveled glass lid. History: Ormolu trinket boxes became popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, especially during the Victorian and Edwardian eras when highly decorative dressing-table accessories symbolized luxury and refinement. Makers such as Matson, Stylebuilt, and Goldberg helped popularize this style in America, drawing inspiration from European gilt-bronze works. The combination of pierced metalwork and beveled glass was designed to catch candlelight and lamplight, giving each box a soft, jewel-like glow that collectors still adore today.
