A tiny window into another time—and the loveliest little layer for a collected home.

This antique postcard captures the original Palais du Trocadéro, an extraordinary Paris landmark built for the 1878 Exposition Universelle. Once standing across the Seine from the Eiffel Tower, the grand palace was demolished in the 1930s and replaced by the present-day Palais de Chaillot—making this view a wonderful glimpse of a Paris that no longer exists.

It is presented in a modern 5” x 7” gold bamboo-style frame, creating a beautiful marriage of old and new.

Rather than covering the edges with a traditional mat, I intentionally floated each postcard against the blue silk so its original perforated edges and individual nuances remain visible. Slightly uneven margins, gently jagged edges, and imperfect symmetry are all part of its age and history—little details that make each piece completely unique.
