Chinoiserie 15”Ginger Jar, Colonial Hunt Scene, 20th Century

Talk about chinoiserie chic! This mid-20th-century Chinese export ginger jar depicts a colonial figural hunt scene with horses, dogs, and amazing architecture. Elaborate gilding combined with cobalt blue adds a depth of richness to the piece's vibrancy, as do the tiger finial and the double dragon handles. Unmarked.

It’s substantial measuring approximately 15” tall x 13” wide from handle to handle. 

I’ve held on to this one awhile...I acquired it at a lovely Austin estate sale about a year ago.
