LARGE and beyond AMAZING Romantic Rococo Von Schierholz German Porcelain Statuette – Musical Trio at the Pianoforte | Antique Figurine

Large 19th-century European antique Von Schierholz porcelain statuette - a true celebration of Rococo elegance. This intricately designed piece features a lavish musical trio in mid-performance: a seated lady in a green and cinnabar gown naps, while a courtly gentleman tenderly embraces a swooning woman at the piano, her dress swirling with baroque drama.

Expertly crafted of German porcelain and beautifully hand painted, it captures all the theatrical flair and delicate craftsmanship that defined high society salon scenes. The ornate scrolled base, detailed with applied porcelain florals and gilt trimmed, underscores the artistry and storytelling in every fold, flourish, and gesture… lust look at the cascading blanket on the piano.

Whether you’re curating a maximalist parlor, dreaming in grandmillennial style, or gifting a romantic heirloom, this showstopping piece sings with Old World charm and opulence.

It was acquired at the lovely Austin estate of  a design enthusiast who graduated  from Parsons School of Design in New York and the Université of Jean Moulin in Lyon, France. He later had a successful career at the University of Texas as the assistant to the Dean of The College of Fine Arts and was curator of the Historical Textiles and Apparel Collection. It was full of European treasures brought back from his time abroad.  It was a maximalist’s dream. He was also a well known performer around Austin revered for his singing, dancing, acting, and musically as a gifted pianist.

It measures an impressive 12” x 13” wide x 7” deep and is in lnear flawless estate condition. I think this is the largest multi figural scene statuette I’ve had. It is truly divine.

Pieces like this are why I love Sourcing the South and the great state of Texas for vintage and antique heirloom estate decor is my favorite thing to do...shopping estate sales, online auctions, charity thrift stores, and antique malls to carefully curate a collection of fantastic finds that have and will stand the test of time.
