The Place Place du Carrousel du Carrousei, Antique Paris Postcard, Framed

A tiny window into another time—and the loveliest little layer for a collected home.

This original antique postcard captures the Place du Carrousel beside the Louvre in the heart of Paris. Named for an elaborate equestrian spectacle held there for Louis XIV in 1662, the historic square is home to the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel and offers a wonderful glimpse of the grandeur of old Paris.

Set against rich blue silk and presented behind glass in a modern 5” x 7” gold bamboo-style frame, this piece creates a beautiful marriage of old and new.

Rather than covering the edges with a traditional mat, I intentionally floated each postcard against the blue silk so its original perforated edges and individual nuances remain visible. Slightly uneven margins, gently jagged edges, and imperfect symmetry are all part of its age and history—little details that make each piece completely unique.

Perfect for displaying on a bookshelf, tucked into a gallery wall, layered on an easel, or given as a thoughtful gift to someone who loves Paris. Each postcard bears its own age-appropriate character and patina, making every framed piece wonderfully individual.

Please forgive the occasional glare in the photographs—each postcard is protected behind glass, and apparently photographing glass without capturing every light in the room is not among my many talents.
