Rare Vintage Blue and White Wedgwood Texas Centennial Commemorative Plate – The Alamo & Texas History, 1836–1936
This is the first and only plate like this I’ve ever come across! It is such a special piece💙
Celebrate a century of Texas pride with this exceptional vintage Wedgwood commemorative plate, created in 1936 for the 100th Anniversary of Texas Independence. Commissioned by the Mary Isham Keith Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution in Fort Worth, Texas, this piece is a scarce find—produced in limited numbers and cherished by collectors for nearly nine decades.
Design Details:

Surrounding portraits and scenes include Stephen F. Austin (“The Father of Texas”), Sam Houston, the Texas State Capitol, and notable missions and architectural icons from the state’s early history.
- Back: The reverse is inscribed with a detailed key to the imagery, noting significant events such as the surrender of Santa Anna at San Jacinto and the Texas Mission of San José de Aguayo. The plate is impressed with the Wedgwood mark, underscoring its fine English craftsmanship.

Rarity & Collectability:
These plates were a special commission and never part of Wedgwood’s standard production. Today, they are highly sought after by Texas history enthusiasts, Wedgwood collectors, and those passionate about the heritage of the Lone Star State. Pieces in such pristine condition are increasingly scarce, making this plate both a stunning display item and a valuable addition to any collection.
This plate is more than decoration—it’s a tangible piece of Texas history, where English artistry meets Lone Star pride.
It was acquired from an old Austin estate.
