Vintage Italian Hollywood Regency Gilt Rope & Tassel Oval Coffee Table with Original Glass, Round Top Find

Some tables simply hold things. This one makes the room.

Sourced in Round Top—the promis land of the maximalist—this fabulous vintage Italian table is everything we want in a statement piece: sculptural gilt metal, twisted ropework, extravagant tassel feet, and a glass top that allows every wonderful detail of the base to remain on full display.

The crossed rope stretcher alone is enough to make us swoon, but those dangling gilt tassels take it completely over the top. It’s wonderfully Italian, wonderfully dramatic, and exactly the sort of piece that gives a collected room its personality.

Use it as a grand coffee or cocktail table surrounded by traditional upholstery, juxtapose it with something wonderfully modern, or go full maximalist and let it mingle with animal print, blue and white, old paintings, and every other fabulous thing you’ve collected along the way.

It measures 39.5” long x 16” tall x 21.5” deep

The gilt metal base is in beautiful vintage condition, with the character and patina we love in an older piece. The glass top has two small chips along the edge, shown in the photographs. They do not detract from the overall presentation of the table, and the glass could be replaced in the future if desired.

A spectacular piece of Italian decorative furniture—and proof that sometimes the grandest things really are waiting for you in Round Top.

It wasn't easy to find exact comps on this piece…i only found one other that wasn't in as nice condition, and it was over $3k…
