“Drugstore Cowboy” Signed Oil Painting by Suzanne Davis | Gilt Frame | 23.5” H × 19.5” W × 1” D

This is one of those fantastic pieces I’m always thrilled to find in Round Top. The juxtaposition of a handsome cowboy in his Western shirt and sweeping hat with that elegant gilt frame—and the cheeky title “Drugstore Cowboy”—makes the whole piece irresistible.

Expressive brushwork, warm golden-green tones, and that wonderfully assured gaze give him fabulous presence. Just the kind of unexpected piece I love layered among European antiques, patterned fabrics, and treasured objects in a collected home.

Signed Suzanne Davis at the lower right and titled “Drugstore Cowboy” on the reverse. The handwritten label identifies the medium as oil. Painting date unknown.

Measures framed 23.5” tall × 19.5” wide × 1” deep. Canvas measures 16” × 20”. Hanging wire attached; easel not included. Frame shows areas of finish wear.

$375 — includes insured shipping in the continental U.S.
